The product is ok March 27, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Pos: Price, Driver to Passenger intercom works fine in a closed helmet on a quiet bike at a highway speed.
Neg: Build quality. Can not get it to work with a Blackberry cellphone without horrible static. Cables for cellphone and wireless are optional.
Bottom line: Other intercoms are much more expensive. If you do not want to spend more this one might work for you.
Ok, but could be much better March 9, 2007 The intercom worked great when i first tried it out. It was better than a cell-phone. It sounded like the other person was right there, talking in your ear. The volume controls are really easy to use, even inside a zipped pocket, or with gloves. The microphone mounts with sticky tape to the inside of the helmet, in a little groove that was unpadded in our helmets. You can't even feel the it on your ear. I do think, however, the microphone padded part that you speak into could be smaller. It seems to always be getting pushed up by my lips because it is constantly touching them.
But, (and this is a big but) it is advertised to work up to 80mph with its advanced Wind Block(tm) circuitry. My boyfriend and I wear these with our closed-face helmets. When we get to about 35-40mph, you can hear considerable static. At about 55-60mph, you can barely hear what the other person is saying. I have to turn it off way before we hit 80mph. By then, we're only hearing pure static. I'm thinking I should have purchased a more expensive brand.
